styling guide

how to style our confession top

The Confession is the piece we're asked about most — an asymmetric drape with a fluid neckline, cut in linen or cotton poplin. It reads polished without trying, which is exactly why it works with almost everything. Here's how we wear it, and how to choose between the versions.

1. with tailored trousers

The day-to-dusk formula we designed it for: the Confession with a straight or wide-leg trouser. The cinched waist and the trouser waistband sit at the same point, so the silhouette reads long and clean.

Keep the trouser simple and let the neckline carry the outfit. This is the version that goes from brunch to a meeting to dinner without changing anything but your shoes.

2. let the drape do the work

The asymmetry is the whole point, so don't fight it. Wear the top loose with the neckline open, or half-tuck one side so the drape falls across the body instead of pooling.

The oversized cuffs on the 2.0 read best with a bare wrist — push a sleeve up and leave the jewellery small.

3. the cotton poplin version for daytime

The cotton poplin Confession has a structured collar and a slightly crisper hand, so it holds its shape through a full day. Wear it the way you'd wear a shirt: with denim, with bermuda shorts, or with balloon pants for volume contrast.

It's the version to reach for when you want the silhouette without the softness of linen.

4. under a jacket

Because the neckline is asymmetric, a jacket worn open frames it rather than covering it. A long linen jacket keeps the line vertical; a shorter, woven jacket makes it an event outfit.

Keep the top the only texture under the jacket — plain trousers, plain shoes.

5. for the evening

Take the same top into the evening with a fluid trouser or a soft skirt, and add one thing that catches light. The sheer organza 2.0 is made to be layered — wear it over a simple base and let the fabric do the drama.

which confession is yours

Original linen: relaxed silhouette, asymmetric drape, breathes well and softens with every wear.

Cotton poplin: structured collar, crisp hand, the most everyday of the two.

Confession 2.0: asymmetric neckline, oversized cuffs, softly cinched waist — the most considered of the family.

Confession 2.0 sheer: unlined organza, designed to be layered over something simple.

fit notes

The original linen and cotton poplin Confession fit true to size — size up if you want it looser. The Confession 2.0 runs small, so we recommend sizing up for a more comfortable fit, especially if you have a fuller bust.

Each product page carries its own garment measurements — check that chart rather than a generic size conversion, and email ishq@ishqeamore.com if you'd like a second opinion. Custom sizing is available on request.

caring for it

Linen versions: hand wash cold or use a gentle cycle with mild detergent, line dry in shade, and steam or iron on low while slightly damp. No bleach; dry cleaning is optional.

Linen softens naturally with wear — the top gets more itself the longer you keep it in rotation.
